Silversea cruise Part 2

The Silversea cruise will take you on an interesting tour of South America and one of the ports of call is Rio Grande Do Sul. This town is one of the oldest cities in Brazil and also is the second busiest port in Brazil. The climate is subtropical with warm summers and cool winters. The beach stretches out to nearly 150 miles along the Atlantic coastline.

Following a day at sea, you will arrive at Sao Paulo (Santos), Brazil that features the largest Latin America dock area. This port is highly renowned for its coffee. A port shuttle will take you from the port to the main terminal. From the pier, it is a 20- minute drive to downtown Santos. You will find that there are plenty of taxis parked outside of the main gate. However, the language barrier may be difficult to overcome as many of the drivers do not speak English well.

One thing to look out for when you are visiting Santos is the excellent Brazilian beer, which is a good thirst quencher. It is recommended to drink only bottled water when visiting. Also, make sure that your food is hot when eating out.

Another attraction in town is the marine museum that features an unusual collection of relics. The tour of the city will provide you with information about its history, however this will generally be an overview.
