Royal Caribbean Cruises
Royal Caribbean International is an American cruise line company with 21 ships transporting passengers to 160 destinations around the world. Founded by three Norwegian shipping companies in 1968, Royal Caribbean came to the forefront of luxury cruising in 1982 when it launched the Song of America, which became the third largest passenger ship in the world. The company continued to expand in the 80’s and 90’s and is shortly to launch two ships in its new Oasis class. These are reported to be the largest and most expensive cruise ships ever commissioned.
The Vision class ship, Legend of the Seas, is currently used for cruising in the Far East. This 70,000 ton ship with a capacity of 2076 passengers has a huge variety of activities and entertainment available on board. Numerous bars and restaurants, a casino, swimming pools, a shopping centre, rock-climbing wall and even a miniature golf course can all be enjoyed by passengers. Entertainment is provided in the form of live music, theatrical performances and theme nights. Numerous spa treatments are available for those wishing to be pampered. From massages and heated stone therapy to acupuncture and Botox, there are options for simply relaxing or a complete beauty makeover.
The Legend of the Seas travels to a great number of ports in the Far East, with highlights being the fast-paced and cosmopolitan Hong Kong, the beautiful temples and spirituality of Cambodia, and the harmonious unison of Eastern and Western culture in Singapore. Royal Caribbean even offers hotel packages near several of the ports they visit for those passengers who wish to extend their holiday and take extra time to explore the wonder of the region.
